Tides change - merging into one Substack
Everything in Michael Field’s Pacific
Substack has been something of a learning curve for me. Mostly successful but occasionally confusing, which is how I ended up with two Substack pages, and some confused subscribers.
My original plan was that my Pacific books would go on-line at Michael Field’s Pacific. News and opinion would go on this page South Pacific Tides. While the logic was clear in my head, no one else thought so.
Thanks to the various tools available in Substack, the Tides content is now in Michael Field’s Pacific, along with the subscriber lists. Old Tide only readers will now get access to the whole thing - books, news and opinion. And the original subscribers to Michael Field’s Pacific will now have more than books to read.
As many will have noticed, the changing mainstream media are not giving the same level of coverage to the South Pacific. Having spent a large part of my life reporting in the region, I know there are great issues and stories still to be told. And that’s why I am here.
My thanks to the subscribers who contacted me about the confusion the two pages were causing and I hope this will fix things.
